Carol Ann Pitzer passed away at Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City on July 16, 2009. Born September 1, 1945 in Madera, California to John {Jack} Burgess Pitzer and Gretchen Brown Pitzer.
She graduated from Reno High School in 1963 and was dedicated to her Tennessee Walking horses. Her prized possession was the mare Generator's Elegance who was named "Pleasure Horse of the Century" in 2000 by the WHTA. Elegance also earned 6 World Grand Championship Titles and 10 World Titles which to this date has not been equaled.

She is survived by her sister Holly Carson and half brother Cal Pettengill both from the Reno area.

God bless that mare. When Carol got ill it was as if Elegance knew she could
no longer take care of her. It was a bitter-sweet day in Carol's life. She
was in treatment then.
